Launched way back in 1983, we originally began as specialists in both Lambretta and Vespa scooters, with huge success! Dave Webster, the 'Head Man' was EIGHT TIMES British Scooter Road Race Champion.  Malc Anderson, our Lambretta mechanic, was Daves hero, and was winning races even before Dave began! This scooter competition background was the basis of the reputation that was built up. Ex Employee Mark Wood used a Cosa as regular transport, and in fact bought a scooter, a Vespa T5, from MSC in 1988. That scooter was tuned, with Malossi kit, big carb and Micron exhaust, and was Woody's introduction to the world of scootering. John Hopkinson, another former employee, started with a Vespa 50 Special, on his 16th Birthday. John bought several scooters from MSC. This very close relationship between all the staff, and our intimate knowledge and love of scooters, and the huge amount of experience amassed over so many years leaves you safe in the knowledge that we are the very best people to look after you and your scooter.
 MSC began trading from small premises in Long Eaton, originally a gatehouse for what years before had been a milkyard. After a year we moved to a small motorcycle shop, and two years after that to the much larger building in Sandiacre, which was at that time a Honda Centre. We stayed there for around ten years, gradually changing in emphasis from our early specialisation with older scooters, to where we began to sell more and more new Vespa and Piaggio scooters. Our move to the current premises in Stapleford, formerly a car showroom and workshops, was prompted by the need again for bigger and better facilities. We are now in much bigger and brighter premises, and now Piaggio Distibutors. Midland Scooter Centre, Britains largest 100% scooter dealership!
At MSC we have always had an engineering background; Dave spent years as a development engineer, then moved to a position with a kart engine manufacturer. Malc is a fully skilled toolmaker. MSC have on site engineering facilities, including lathe, boring and crank rebuild equipment... and not least, the knowlege of how to work this equipment. This is the reason why virtually all of the work entrusted to MSC is carried out 'in-house'. We like it this way. It means we don't have to rely on others to work to the same standards we do. After all, 'if we came make a Lambretta do 125 miles per hour, your major problem is just a minor hiccup to us'. Our service workshops are fully equipped, with four lifts and a rolling road facility, so that we can keep your scooter in tip-top condition! Dave Webster and Malc Anderson are now retired from Scooter Racing, but have continued within MSC and still have just the same enthusiasm.... As Malc tells our customers... 'Dave still talks a good race....' We have 11 staff, most have been here a number of years..

Malc & Andy, and...... IRENE (Yes.. we're not sexist, we have a lady vehicle technician...) are the team that service and repair all types of scooters, and complete new scooter preparation, through to road test. Irene currently has a (spit... S*z*ki motorbike.. but wants an X9500). Irene has recently completed her Piaggio Factory Traning courses, and has won a trip the the Piaggio factory in Italy as PIAGGIO APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR! He looks after the computerised booking in of service and accident/repair work, manage our HUGE parts stock, and look after mail order. Lee is a long time scooter freak.... and has vast experience particularly with the newer automatic models. He started with scooters on a PK100, and still uses a 70cc Malossi kitted Gilera Ice. He is ably assisted by Martyn; the 'back-room' side of our parts operation. These two also look after the MSC mail-order operation
Ginny is our ace accounts lady who send out the bills and cheques, pays the wages, and keeps our finances running smoothly.
Andrew has just passed his motorcycle test and now owns a fully kitted Malossi Runner SP180 in Ferrari Race Red! Andrew looks after most of our recoveries, breakdowns etc, liases with Nicola to deliver lots of our shiney new scooters to their new owners around the country, and in between assists with parts and accessories at the counter.
Joanne, Cosa and Px200 owner, bought her Cosa from MSC in 1989 and is currently in love with the new GTS250.... She left recently since becoming a mum, and was replaced by June, who keeps everything ship-shape and scooter fashion... and also makes a mean cup of tea!
 The showrooms here are very spacious, so that you can wander around and see the scooters from every angle. There is always space for you to sit on and try for size the particular scooter you like. Even so, we have around seventy new bikes always on display for you to see. We like to say 'we have every model and every colour'... though sometimes we may need to fork-lift down from our upstairs store that particular model and colour combination we don't have on show. We also have around fifty to one hundred bikes as 'back-up' stock... though we can easily store over two hundred! We bought a huge batch of Vespa Piaggio and Gilera scooters before the June 2003 kicked in.... TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE PX200's, 40 Gilera Runners, 65 PX125's, plus NRG's and DOZENS of others! Managing that lot was a bit of a nightmare; three fully loaded 40ft artics in three days! The driver was convinced there was some sort of mistake! They had never seen anything like it!
But we don't JUST sell scooters! We have a clothing and helmets section, with VESPA gear. We have a large forecourt available for testing, and we can usually assist with a demonstrator model of the machine you want to buy, or at least something very similar, so you will have an idea of performance and handling.
You will see from all of this that we are VERY enthusiastic about scooters, especially Vespa!.
